SYNOPSIS

In a deeply personal documentary tribute to Vytautas Kernagis on the occasion of his 75th birthday, the film brings audiences back to the most defining moments of his life and creative journey. Through intimate memories shared by his closest friends, stage partners, and family members, a warm and layered portrait emerges - of an artist whose voice never truly faded, but continues to resonate within Lithuania's cultural identity. What was Kernagis like to those who knew him best? How did he search for his place across music, theatre, and film? The documentary explores the inner tensions he faced - between serious artistic expression and playful cabaret, between recognition and misunderstanding. Against a backdrop of humor, student-era mischief, and bohemian stories, we discover not only the charismatic performer, but a sensitive and constantly searching human being. In its most poignant moments, the film turns to the final years of Kernagis' life, revealing a quiet yet profound relationship with his fate and with those closest to him.
